Notice for the collection of expressions of interest to cover the position of Director of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies – Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari


In the coming months, a new Director for the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari will be selected. The Director will be responsible for leading the Institute, under the supervision of the Secretary-General of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM), based in Paris. The Director will be appointed by the CIHEAM Board of Directors, upon the proposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Citizens of the 13 CIHEAM member countries (Albania, Algeria, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia, and Turkey) who meet the requirements specified in the announcement are eligible to apply. A specially appointed Commission will evaluate the applications and draw up a shortlist of at least three suitable candidates to present to the Minister.

CIHEAM is an International Organization, headquartered in Paris, with an operational network of research institutes in Italy (Bari), Spain (Zaragoza), France (Montpellier), and Greece (Chania). Founded in 1962, the Bari Institute is a center for postgraduate training, applied research, and the design and execution of cooperation projects, specializing in sustainable agricultural development and food security in the Mediterranean and Africa. The CIHEAM Bari facilities include an International Campus located in Valenzano (Bari, Italy) and an office in Tricase (Lecce, Italy), where ongoing capacity-building initiatives are conducted using both in-person and distance learning methods.
