Allegro con brio: The AYSO Young Soloists Orchestra Concert for the Start of the Executive Council

On 14 March, the Permanent Representation of Italy organised a concert performed by the AYSO Orchestra at UNESCO to wish a harmonious start to the 219th session of the Executive Council.

The AYSO Young Soloists is a symphony orchestra composed of 70 outstanding young musicians between the ages of 18 and 25 from all over Italy. On this occasion, the ensemble, consisting of 10 musicians and conducted by Teresa Satalino, performed Italianand international pieces, ranging from Vivaldi’s baroque to Piazzolla’s tango to the famous film compositions of Ennio Morricone and Nino Rota. The occasion was also taken to pay tribute to the genius of Giacomo Puccini, on the centenary of his death.

The concert was attended by the members of the 80 countries of the Executive Council: to them in particular was addressed the wish of the Conductor, Teresa Satalino, who showed how the musicians exchanged roles and interacted with each other through instruments, trying to convey in music the spirit of diplomacy and cooperation that will characterise the work of the Executive Council.
