Fare Cinema: celebrating Italian cinema from 14 to 20 June

The fourth edition of Fare Cinema is back from 14 to 20 June 2021 : the thematic initiative dedicated to Italian cinema abroad and promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Farnesina), in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, ANICA, ICE Agency and Istituto Luce – Cinecittà.

An entire week entitled Reboot – Italian cinema starts again and dedicated to raising awareness of the seventh art and the Italian film industry in the context of the national restart: films, documentaries, short films and meetings with original content that highlight the extraordinary ability of Italian cinema to react to the crisis caused by the pandemic and that will be shared by the entire international network of the Farnesina, with subtitles in English or in several languages.

On the Delegation’s YouTube channel, don’t miss the two video clips of Reboot/Il nuovo abbraccio del cinema (Reboot/The new embrace of cinema), where the Fondazione Cinema (curated by Mario Sesti) has interviewed some of the protagonists of Italian cinema on the film industry’s ability to react to the difficulties of the pandemic.

From 15 to 19 June (World Italian Cinema Day), on the Delegation’s YouTube channel we will also unveil the video series Il Nuovo Abbraccio del Cinema: dalla Pandemia al Set, which is dedicated to raising awareness about the different professions of the film industry in Italy. These short videos will take us behind the scenes of movie-making with professionals sharing their own personal experiences: from directors (Daniele Lucchetti, Daniele Ciprì) to sound engineers (Maricetta Lombardo), from actors/actress (Anna Foglietta, Pierfrancesco Favino) to screenwriters (Nicola Guaglianone), costume designers (Massimo Cantini Parrini) and producers (Pietro Valsecchi), passing through set photographers (Fabio Lovino), directors of photography and sound editors (Mirko Perri).

Check them out during the whole week here.
