The Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene inscribed in UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

“Today, the beautiful Prosecco hills of  Conegliano and Valdobbiadene have become the 55th  Italian site inscribed in UNESCO’s World Heritage List.  The Committee’s decision confirms the universal value of this unique cultural and agricultural landscape, which is the fruit of a skillful and extraordinary interaction between a high profile production activity and the nature of this amazing landscape”, declared the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Enzo Moavero. The announcement took place today in Baku (Azerbaijan), with a unanimous decision by the 21 Member States of the Committee, which confirms the high value of this candidature. This result also bears testimony to Italy’s leading role inside UNESCO, and to the excellent cooperation among all concerned Authorities, namely the Italian Ministries of Foreign Affairs; Cultural Heritage and Activities; Farming, Food and Forest Policies and Tourism; the Veneto Region and the candidature’s Promoting Committee (Press release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
