On June 23 2011, during its 35th session, the World Heritage Committee examined the state of conservation of the “Area archeologica di Pompei, Ercolano e Torre Annunziata” site and recognised Italy’s quick response. By means of Ministerial Decree n°34 of March 31 2011, in fact, the necessary funding and measures were set up in order to protect the archaeological site.
