President Prodi was the special guest of the IX Euro-China Forum which was organised by the China Europe International Business School of Shanghai (CEIBS) at UNESCO last 27 and 28 June.
It was the first time that this important yearly gathering of Chinese and European businessmen took place in UNESCO.
The conference was centred on common economic, commercial and energetic issues with the purpose of fostering positive dialogue.
In her video-intervention, UNESCO’s Director-General, Irina Bokova, welcomed this initiative warmly and whished that mutual misunderstandings may be overcome in the name of the respect of cultural differences.
