The \u201cICE Memory\u201d projectwas created by a group of science professors from the Ca\u2019 Foscari University in Venice and the Grenoble Alpes University in France. It aims at safeguarding the \u201cice memory\u201d by collecting and storing glaciers samples.<\/p>\n

These samples, in fact, are a precious source of information on the climate and environmental conditions of our planet \u2013 such as temperatures, rainfalls, wind speeds, draughts. Due to global warming, these \u00ab\u00a0climate safes\u00a0\u00bb are at risk of melting or becoming corrupted.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For this reason, samples will be collected from glaciers in the Alpes, at four different altitudes. They will be stored in the coldest spot on Earth, Antarctica, and preserved for futures generations of scientists to study.<\/p>\n
