{"id":603,"date":"2017-10-19T12:20:01","date_gmt":"2017-10-19T10:20:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/delegazioneunesco.esteri.it\/news\/dalla_rappresentanza\/2017\/10\/l-italia-protagonista-all-unesco-2\/"},"modified":"2017-10-19T12:20:01","modified_gmt":"2017-10-19T10:20:01","slug":"l-italia-protagonista-all-unesco-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/delegazioneunesco.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dalla_rappresentanza\/2017\/10\/l-italia-protagonista-all-unesco-2\/","title":{"rendered":"39th UNESCO General Conference and Executive Board: Italy\u2019s engagements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a few days the 39th UNESCO General Conference will start, with an Italian Chair to its\u00a0 Culture Commission for the first time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The autumn session of the Executive Board has just ended with the approval of the <a href=\"resource\/doc\/2017\/11\/appello_eng.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Appeal<\/a> for the protection of cultural heritage in crisis zones which was proposed by Italy and will be pronounced by UNESCO\u2019s Member States during the General Conference (<a href=\"http:\/\/unesdoc.unesco.org\/images\/0025\/002594\/259417e.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Decision 5.I.H<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the Executive Board, Italy and France have promoted the \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.delegazioneunesco.esteri.it\/rappunesco\/it\/ambasciata\/news\/dalla%20rappresentanza\/2017\/09\/italia-e-francia-lavorano-con-l.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ice memory<\/a>\u201d project, which, by means of the \u00a0approved Decision, highlights the importance of international scientific cooperation in a domain which has high educational and cultural fall backs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Italy has also actively supported several Decisions \u00a0on these topics:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Preventing violent extremism by means of education<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Protecting journalists<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Education for refugees and migrants<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ethical principles of climate change<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Report on Biosphere Reserves, Geoparcs and World Heritage sites\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"resource\/img\/2017\/10\/foto_cex_con_stagiste.jpg\" alt=\"foto cex con stagiste\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"In a few days the 39th UNESCO General Conference will start, with an Italian Chair to its\u00a0 Culture Commission for the first time.
