This initiative follows up on the work carried out by Italy at UNESCO in order to protect and enhance cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The declaration was handed over to President Macron by UNESCO\u2019s Director-General Audrey Azoulay together with a delegation of Executive Board representatives, among which Italy\u2019s, during a ceremony which took place at the Elys\u00e9e Palace. While expressing solidarity of the Organization\u2019s 193 Member States, the text reaffirms their engagement and determination to protect cultural heritage as a vehicle to express the universal values that unite all peoples.
